Organic/Inorgainc Hybrid Materials; Preparation, Characterization, and Some Applications |

Organic/inorganic hybrid composites have been recognized as one of new class advanced materials, becaue they can take benefit by combining the merits of both inorganic and organic materials. In this laboratory, we have conducted many interesting hybrid materials especially including polyimide as a matrix polymer. We focused on the improvement of interfacial interaction between polyimide and inorganic materials such as in particular silica. We utilized those hybrids in electro-optical applications including to organic light-emitting devices. We have also conducted on the preparation of polyimide/organoclay nanocomposite materials which can be used for flexible substrate. We also conducted organic-inorganic hybrid mesoporous materials using block copolymer templating. Most of all of these topics will be briefly touched in order to provide the overview of our research activities in the hybrid field. |
