Photobiomodulation for improving therapeutic efficacy of adult stem cells using different light source |

Poor therapeutic effect of stem cell therapy due to low cell viability and engraftment remained as critical problems to be solved. In this study, we have showed a new and optimized method that can enhance therapeutic angiogenesis in hADSCs using OLED. hADSCs with optiized OLED treatment significantly improved therapeutic angiogenesis in ischemic tissue by enhancing cellular functions such as angiogenic paracrine factor secretion, cell adhesion, and migration ability compared to normal hADSCs. Also OLED treated hADSCs showed significantly enhanced blood flow and limb salvage ratio with reduced fibrosis and tissue degeneration comapred to conventional cell injection method with reduced cell amount. Our method might suggest a new platform for future stem cell therapy related with ischemic disease. |
