Electrospun PCL-Gelatin fibers for encapsulation of injectable Calcium Phosphate Cement |
초록 |
The bone cement had been the gold standard in bone regeneration. Although, injectable Calcium Phosphate cement (CPC) is one of its advantages that provides a minimal invasive application and pain relief in filling bone cracks and irregular size defects. Only fully set CPC demonstrates excellent tissue responses, yet paste disintegration causes inflammatory responses. The objective of this study is encapsulating CPC into the high potential degradability Polycaprolactone (PCL)/Gelatin (Gel) balloon which plays a role as a barrier to prevent blood or body fluid from contacting cement debris leakage. The balloons were fabricated by electrospinning method with various different ratios of PCL and Gel and characterized by scanning electron microscopy for morphology and tensile strength for mechanical properties. The increasing of Gel content of balloon results to improve the swelling behavior but decrease the tensile strength. Compared with the PCL/Gel balloon, the balloon added Glycerol (Gly) strengthens the tensile strength and reduce elongation at break. Biocompatibility was also evaluated by culturing Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) and pre-Osteoblasts (MC3T3-E1). The in-vivo experiment will be conducted to confirm the degradability of mentioned balloons. |
