Molecular orientation control of liquid crystalline organic semiconductors via directed self-assembly with thermal gradient for high performance OFETs |
초록 |
We fabricated strongly textured organic semiconductor (OSC) micro patterns of the liquid crystalline small molecule by using template assisted self-assembly. The self-alignment properties of the liquid crystal phase of OSC, C10-BTBT, enable the solvent-free fabrication. In a highly ordered micropattern, the molecules of C10-BTBT were assembled through [100] direction as following the capillary flow. However, the more effective charge transport occurs along the [010] direction due to stronger intermolecular electronic coupling in C10-BTBT crystal structure. In order to enhance electrical performance, we aimed to well defined molecular orientation of smetic liquid crystal phase of C10-BTBT via changing the direction of thermal flow. As a result, we fabricated the high-performance printed organic field effect transistors (OFETs). |
