Development of Automatic Nucleic Acid Testing system for Mycoplasma Monitoring |

Mycoplsma contamination in the cell culture is one of the most important problems and cumbersome works. Those existance of thoes mycoplamic organisms should be monitred for sucessuful cell culture during culturing. It can be monitored by nulecic acid testing through the real time PCR, which is commercialized already in many bioindustrial companies. However, most of the monitoring kits are based upon manual operation by molecular experts. We have developed a new full-automatice nucleic acid testing machine, in which the total process of the real time PCR could be done by itself. The magnetic bead based DNA extraction process is implemented with a cartridge of all reagents are included and conuously real time PCR process is peformed using the extacted nucleic acid. Turn-around time for a test is about 1 and half hours. This automatice nucleic testing system will reduce the human load for monitoring mycoplasma monitoring during cell culture. |
