High-energy electron beam curing of polymer is a novel alternative to conventional thermal processing. It involves the application of radiant energy, rather than thermal energy, to increase cross-linking of the polymer matrix and has a number of advantages over thermal curing. In this work, benzylquinoxalinium hexafluoroanti-monate (BQH) was used as a latent cationic catalyst for DGEBA epoxy resins. The DGEBA epoxy resins with BQH were cured using electron-beam. The effects of BQH content to DGEBA on thermal properties were investiged. The resins containing 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0 wt.% of BQH had been studied by DSC, TGA, TMA. |
