Microengineered hydrogel systems for tissue engineering applications |
초록 |
This presentation describes the development of microengineered hydrogel systems for creating regenerative tissue constructs. We developed an integrated microfluidic platform to direct embryonic stem (ES) cell fate. The posts within micropillar arrays played an important role in regulating uniform cell docking and shear stress profiles. We demonstrated that ES cells cultured within the integrated microfluidic platform differentiated into endothelial cells. To assemble cell-laden hydrogels, we generated the two-phase bioreactor system. The individual building blocks of hydrogels are self-assembled on the hydrophobic organic solvent. We also synthesized porous core-shell fiber networks using an electrospinning system. The phase separation and solvent evaporation process played a significant role in regulating the pore formation on fiber networks. Therefore, the microengineered hydrogel systems could be useful for studying regenerative tissues. |
