Cell is the smallest unit of living organism, therefore, it has been studied as a standard for various bioactivities toward environmental stimuli. However, it is difficult to make observations of cellular activity in general, due to variation of cell types. Among cells, neuronal cell is the one of the most interesting cell in terms of responsiveness. Here, we conduct a research to study neuronal cell response based on the surface environments. The substrata for harvesting cells were coated with synthetic polymers which contained a block copolymer having electro-active block and bio-compatible block. This block copolymer was assembled with polyelectrolytes as multilayered films. The variety of oxidation states of the block copolymer was found as highly important key for this assembly process. We measured the optical, electrical and surface properties of the films. The deposited films have been studied for cellular interactions including micro-patterned condition. |
