Biodegradable polymers are promising materials to solve environmental pollution by plastic wastes. Among the biodegradable polymers, Polylactic acid (PLA) attracts much attention due to its good mechanical properties. However PLA has some weaknesses such as brittleness and poor processability. For this reason, many researchers have tried polymer blend or nanocomposites with materials that can compensate for the weaknesses of PLA. In this study, We used Low density Polyethylene (LDPE) for dispersed phase to enhance ductility of PLA. To improve compatibility between PLA and LDPE, we added three different inorganic fillers, hydrophilic and hydrophobic fumed silica, hydrophobic organoclay. We investigated compatibilizer effect of different fillers and checked effect by filler dispersion through linear viscoelastic properties from small amplitude oscillatory shear (SAOS) test and nonlinear viscoelastic properties from elongational test. |
