제목 Nondestructive analysis of carbon fiber reinforced composite using acoustic emission
초록 Acoustic emission (AE) is a phenomenon in which elastic waves are emitted by the occurrence and growth of cracks. By analyzing the signals, we can evaluate the structural integrity quantitatively. In the case of composite materials, individual signal collection and analysis techniques have been researched, but the analysis for the overall integrity tends to be overlooked. Traditionally, seismology and architecture have used the b-value analysis method to analyze the slope of the cumulative distribution according to the intensity of the AE signal. In this study, we applied the b-value analysis method to fiber composite materials. In composite material, the attenuation rate was a factor to shift the b-value, so an improved b-value compensating the factor was developed also. The authors clarified the feasibility of b-value analysis in composite materials and it would be applied to a large-sized structural application such as a wind power blades.
