Synthesis and Properties of Poly(α-methylbenzyl dipropargylamine) |

A wide variety of polymers from acetylene derivatives including monosubstituted and disubstituted acetylenes, and cyclopolymerizable 1,6-heptadiynes has been prepared by various transition metal catalysts. Here, a new conjugated cyclopolymer was synthesized by the cyclopolymerization of α-methylbenzyl dipropargylamine by using various transition metal catalysts and the polymer structure was elucidated by NMR, IR, and UV-visible spectroscopies. The cyclovoltammograms of the polymer exhibited the irreversible electrochemical behaviors between the doping and undoping peaks. It was found that the kinetics of the redox process of polymer might be mainly controlled hy the electron transfer process from the experiment of the oxidation current density of polymer versus the scan rate. The photoluminescence peaks of the present polymer was observed at 443nm corresponding to the photon energy of 2.80eV. |
