Silica nanoparticles with different sizes of ca. 60 nm and 150~200 nm were prepared according to the well-known stober method using hydrolysis and condensation of tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS), and then were calcined at 500°C and 1000 °C, respectively. The surface structure and crystallinity of silica nanoaprticles before and after heat treatment were compared through the analysis of FTIR, DSC/TGA, and XRD spectra. The cytotoxcity of heat-treated silica nanoparticles will be further discussed in terms of the chnages of crystallinity and surface structure. |
