Silicone-based dielectric elastomer actuators (DEAs) have been significantly studied as flexible, light-weight, and low-cost materials for new types of electromechanical transducers. Also, silicone-based DEAs have preferable properties such as a low modulus, high tearing strength and resilience as well as large electromechanical actuation. In this study, the electromechanical properties of the silicone elastomers were tuned by adjusting the content of silicone-based materials and catalyst. Industrially producible silicone-based DEAs with improved mechanical properties and large strain properties had been developed via a simple blending approach. |
