The clinical tissue adhesives are limited due to their poor mechanical properties and adherence to the wet tissue surfaces. To overcome this problem, mussel inspired adhesive materials has been proposed as promising materials for bio-adhesives due to its excellent adhesion properties in wet conditions. In this study, adhesive hydrogels were prepared by physical crosslinking onto the mussel-inspired copolymers and polyacrylamide(PAAm), that can be efficiently and rapidly activated without the external stimuli. The IPN-structured PAAm/mussel inspired copolymer hydrogel exhibited significantly mechanical properties and highly adhesiveness on the various substrate. It suggests that catechol based double network hydrogels can be considered to assist a various application using biomaterials. |
