제목 | Characterization of organic-inorganic composite membrane for water electrolyzers |
초록 | The use of a proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer as a clean and sustainable method for producing hydrogen has received great attention. The aim of the present work was to study the performances of the organic–inorganic composite membrane based on sulfonated poly(phenylene oxide) and silica as ion exchange membranes in the dilute alkaline water electrolysis process. Higher proton conductivity and lowered electrolyte solution permeability were exhibited by the hybrid membrane because of a reasonable number of hydrophilic groups and the uniform distribution of sSiO₂ in the sulfonated poly(phenylene oxide) polymer matrix, which produced a most favorable ion exchange membrane for advanced fuel cell and electrolyzer systems.
