제목 | Synthesis and characterization of hierarchical Ni-GDC anode materials using egg shell membrane (ESM) templates |
초록 | Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) are energy conversion devices that convert chemical energy to electrical energy through a highly dense oxide electrolyte separated by two porous electrodes. In general, the morphology of the anode –electrolyte interface morphology plays a vital role on the electrochemical reaction during the SOFC operation. Hence, many recent researches are concern to tailoring morphology of the electrodes to enhance the cell performance. In this study egg shell membranes (ESMs) are used as templates to synthesize hierarchical Ni-Gd0.2Ce0.8O2-δ (Ni-GDC) anode materials. ESMs are bio-templates, which are environment friendly, cheap and easily available. These ESM were immersed into a nitrate salt solution containing ‘Ni’, ‘Gd’ and ‘Ce’ with EDTA as chelating agents for synthesis of hierarchical Ni-GDC. The hierarchical Ni-GDC were then characterized by XRD and SEM for phase and morphology analysis. FTIR spectra of the ESM/NiO-GDC hybrid membranes were analysed to understand the mechanism of the formation of NiO-GDC composite. Finally electrolyte support single cell were fabricated to evaluate the electrochemical performance in the temperature range 700~8000C under humidified H2 and the cell performance was then compare with that of conventional Ni-GDC anode. |
