제목 Mixed geometrical effect of silica rod and sphere on electrorheological activity
초록 Herein, we report a mixed geometrical effect of bimodal ER systems composed of various SiO2 rods and spheres on electrorheological (ER) activity. Particularly, total 12 bimodal ER fluids are formulated by mixing 4 different sized SiO2 spheres (50, 100, 150, and 350 nm) and 3 sorts of SiO2 rods with varying aspect ratios (L/D = 2, 3, and 5). Furthermore, each type of bimodal ER fluids are prepared in 5 different levels by controlling the concentrations of added SiO2 spheres and rods, resulting in a total 60 different sets of ER measurements. Noticeably, some bimodal ER fluids showed the mixed geometrical effect of enhanced ER activity compared to single rods or spheres-based ER fluids.
