제목 | Electrorheologicalactivities of various silane-treated pearl pigments |
초록 | Pearl pigments are widely utilized in various industrial fields including automotive, cosmetics, and paintings. For application in various fields, water repellency is one of the most important property for pearl pigments. In this study, we report a facile preparation method for pearl pigment with high water repellency. In specific, three different types of silanes are introduced on the surface of pearl pigment by sequential hydrolysis and condensation reaction. The water repellent properties are able to adjust by the selection of silane material and reaction amount of silanes. Finally, electro-response activities of various silane-coated pearl pigment are tested with the application of electric field. As a result, silane containing 3-aminopropyl functional group exhibited higher performance due to the increased polarizability compared to others. |
