Cloning and characterization of putative soluble epoxide hydrolase of Zebra fish |

Chiral epoxides can be used as synthetic building blocks for preparing more complex chiral pharmaceuticals. Chiral epoxides can be produced by epoxide hydrolase (EH)-catalyzed kinetic resolution of racemic epoxide substrates. In this study, a soluble EH gene was cloned from zebra fish on the basis of data-mining of genomic database. The gene was expressed in Escherichia coli. Zebra fish soluble EH was evaluated for its ability to produce chiral styrene oxide. |
