Hot Carrier Photo-Physics of Half-Mixed Pb-Sn Perovskites |

Mixed Pb-Sn perovskites have attained enormous research interests due to their lower toxicity, lower optical band gap (~ 1.20 eV) contrary to the Pb counterparts. However, the fundamental photo-physics on mixed Pb-Sn perovskites were not well examined. In this letter, hot carrier (HC) photo-physics of FA0.5MA0.5Pb0.5Sn0.5I3 perovskites have been investigated for the first time, including HC relaxation and extraction by using femtosecond Transient Absorption Spectroscopy (TAS). Long-lived HCs with much slower average HC cooling lifetime (~ 21.1 ps) were observed, compared to the previously reported Pb counterparts at a comparable carrier density. Furthermore, the feasibilities for HC extraction and potential implementation of concentrator-type perovskite hot carrier solar cells were examined through TAS analysis and device characteristics. |
