Self-healing polymers have attracted much attention because they can autonomously repair material's damage. Self-healing mechanism is categorized into the intrinsic self-healing and extrinsic self-healing. In particular, intrinsic self-healing polymers enable rapid and repetitive repair. Herein, a methacrylate-based reactive polymer that enables intrinsic self-healing was prepared. Reactive polymer can be cross-linked with aromatic disulfide compound, allowing them to exhibit self-healing properties. However, methacrylate derivatives are highly flammable. Therefore, phosphorous containing monomer was synthesized and copolymerized via free radical polymerization. The characterization and analysis will be presented at the conference. |
