We studied amplified scattering of low-index Mie-resonators using lattice resonance called as guided-mode resonance (GMR). The first order diffraction of incident light is coupled into the lattice, thus enhancing the scattering of gallium nitride (GaN) nanorods. The momentum matching condition is defined by effective refractive index of lattice layer of GaN nanorods and refractive index of substrate. By changing filling ratio defined as radius of the nanorod to lattice period, we were able to modulate bandwidth of coupling and the amount of amplification. As an application, we designed a GaN nanorod array to render full and gradient structural coloration, and successfully demonstrated microprints colored by red, green and blue in gradients. |
