제목 Cross-linking study of Chitosan : comparison between chemical and electron beam cross-linking
초록 Chitosan is generally obtained by alkaline deacetylation from chitin which is one of the most abundant materials in nature and can be found in the shells of crustaceans and insects. Despite of the notable properties of chitosan such as non-toxicity, biocompatibility and biodegradability, it shows poor mechanical property. In this study, mechanical property of chitosan was monitored after cross-linking using crosslinking agent such as Dopamine hydrochloride and Genipin as natural cross-linking agents as well as electron beam (EB) irradiation. For EB cross-linking, effect of  chemical additives such as itaconic acid will be also studied. Cross-linked chitosan can be more useful for bio-applications.
