We prepared various photocurable adhesives consisting of a polysiloxane acrylate as an oligomer, isobornyl acrylate as an acrylate monomer, dipentaerythritol penta-/hexa-acrylate as an acrylate crosslinker and IRGACURE 819 as a photoinitiator, and then they were cured by exposure to 365-nm UV irradiation for applications to adhesives for glass slimming process of display. Acid and alkali resistances of the cured films were evaluated with contents of the crosslinker. Even after soaking for a week in an HF solution or in a NaOH solution, the cured adhesives maintained their tensile strength and strain at break, indicating that they had both excellent acid and alkali resistance. By incorporating 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate as a silane coupling agent into the adhesives, adhesion strength between two glasses was improved. |
