The development of large-scale synthesis techniques and efficient purification techniques is essential to commercialize Boron Nitride Nanotubes (BNNTs). A technique for large-scale synthesis of BNNTs has been recently introduced through various studies. Unfortunately, however, current BNNT synthesis processes cannot control the number of walls and by-products, perfectly. To approach high-quality single- and double-walled BNNTs, it is vital to focus on the methodical synthesis process. Here, we report an efficient BNNTs synthesis process by controlling the growth kinetics of BNNTs. In particular, we induced from the diffusion-limited regime to the supply-limited regime of growth kinetics by adjusting nitrogen supply. In conclusion, the high contents of the single- and double-walled high-quality BNNTs were synthesized. It is expected to be applied in various applications as a filter, dielectric part, piezoelectric device, and heat sink. |
