제목 Dual-view imaging system for observing the particle dynamics in the cross-section of a microchannel
초록 Recently, microfluidic devices have become widespread for counting and sorting of particles and cells. Particles dispersed in the fluid flowing through the channel are studied using an optical microscope and a camera attached to it to develop a microfluidic device with such functions. However, it is typical for optical microscope objective lenses to be aligned in a vertical direction while obtaining images. As a result, while the particle distribution in the channel width direction is simple to analyze, the distribution in the channel depth direction requires the use of a costly specific approach such as holography. In this work, after installing two objective lenses with cameras attached vertically and horizontally, a system was constructed that can concurrently take images in the width and depth directions using a trigger. Using this approach, we observed how spherical particles migrate laterally in the cross-section of a squared microchannel in inertial Newtonian flow. Furthermore, we plan to show the spatial particle distribution in viscoelastic flow in the microchannel.
