Methacrylic acid(MAA):ethyl acrylate(EA)=1:1 copolymer is widely used in aqueous enteric coating of pharmaceutical field. However, the film properties of MAA-EA=1:1 copolymer is brittle and breakable so it needed to use plasticiser such as propylene glycol. To improve film properties of acryl copolymer, HPMCP (hydroxypropylmethylcellulose phthalate), alkali-soluble cellulose derivative was used as a polymeric emulsifier in the emulsion polymerization of methacrylic acid(MAA) and ethyl acrylate(EA) and cellulose derivative-fortified MAA-EA copolymer was prepared. The cellulose derivative-fortified MAA-EA copolymer applied to enteric coating for asprin tablet and compared to Eudragit L30D-55. The drug release pattern and coating film properties studied |
