Development of PLLA electrospun nanofibers immobilized with collagen type Ⅳ for enhanced endothelialization |
초록 |
The inner layer of the blood vessel is made up of endothelium and basement membrane, which closely interact with each other. In particular, basement membrane is mainly composed of laminin and collagen type Ⅳ which regulate endothelial cell adhesion, proliferation and differentiation. The current artificial vascular grafts exhibit many problems such as restenosis and hyperplasia, and thus the development of vascular grafts that are able enhance endothelialization is important. Many studies such as electrospinning and surface modifications have been underway. However, successful mimicry of natural blood vessel has still not been achieved. In this study, we immobilized collagen type Ⅳ onto the electrospun-PLLA nanofiber, to mimic vascular basement membrane. Both acrylic acid grafting through the gamma-ray was used to immobilize collagen type Ⅳ. Immobilized collagen type Ⅳ increased endothelial cell adhesion and proliferation. |
