Fabrication of Flexible Transparent Conductive Films with Silver Nanowires Using Vortex Layer-by-Layer Process |

Silver nanowires (AgNW) with high conductivity and optical transparency are likely to be useful for applications in the various fields and have attracted a lot of attentions to replace indium tin oxide as transparent conductive films. However the formation of uniform films from the AgNW colloidal suspension causes many defects in films such as coagulation and sedimentation. In this study, transparent conductive films with AgNWs were fabricated via Vortex-assisted Layer-by-Layer method with variations in types of polyelectrolytes and the experimental conditions. We revealed that using Vortex machine during LBL steps of AgNWs results in the fabrication of uniform and homogeneous films. The polyelectrolytes were assembled with AgNWs via coordination or hydrogen bonding. Besides, it was identified that the conductivity of the flexible thin film with AgNWs was maintained during 1000 of bending tests. |
