Uniformly aligned liquid crystal films with high order parameter can be used as polarization state control film for display. These films give wide viewing angle performance to LCD which has narrow viewing angle property intrinsically by controlling polarization state of light between polarizers and LCD cell at inclined direction. Several optical film makers try to make new application in the area of post-LCD based on developed liquid crystal film technology for LCD. This presentation shows recent activities of liquid crystal film makers in display industry to develop post LCD applications, e.g. 3D, OLED, flexible display and architecture. |
