Metal-organic frameworks are potentially attractive as membrane materials due to their tunable pore size properties via mixed linker approach. However, estimated pore size of the mixed linker MOF cannot theoretically be calculated due to their unexpected gate opening and breathing behaviors. Thus, precise measurement of the diffusion coefficient is crucial in selecting gas pairs of interest for membrane separation. In this study, mixed-linker MOFs synthesized with different compositions of 2-methylimidazole and 2-aminobenzimidazole are utilized and clear evidence of tunable pore size nature was confirmed via diffusion coefficient measurement. Additionally, detailed characterization of mixed-linker MOFs was performed with XRD, 1H-NMR, SEM, Optical Microscope, ASAP will be demonstrated. Finally, the notable shift of the molecular level cut-off toward smaller molecules was confirmed by the performance measurement of mixed-linker MOFs membrane. |
