For use as a thick film type sensor, mesoporous SnO2 was prepared by sol-gel method from tin chloride(IV) using of tri-block copolymer(P123) as a template diluted ammonium hydroxide as a hydrolysis agent. Under the most suitable conditions, higher surface area(ca. 301.64 m2g-1) was obtained by solvent extraction treatment than by calcinations at high temperature. Not only thick film senor, but also thin film sensor can be made by dip coating method. The samples have been characterized by small angle XRD, TEM, SEM and BET. And mixed oxide(tungsten-tin oxides and indium-tin oxides) was synthesized by same experimental sequences. The properties of sensors were influenced by the surface area of mesoporous material. To get the more accurate sensitivity, palladium was impregnated in various weight percent(1~5%). Sensitivity of a thick film sensor obtained from mesopore SnO2 was higher than that of SnO2 consisted of nano particles in various CH4 concentrations and temperature. |
