제목 Reversible Self-Assembly of Liquid Crystalline Gold Nanoparticle
초록 Recently, metal nanoclusters have attracted a great deal of interest since they show unique properties compared to the bulk metals. Especially, alkanethiolate-protected metal clusters (MPCs) are promising materials, since they can be handled in a similar manner as general organic compounds due to their high stability to light and air, and solubility in conventional organic solvents. Here, we report the preparation of gold nanoparticles covered with some liquid-crystalline (nematic or smectic) compounds via a strong gold-sulfur chemical bond, and its characteristic thermodynamic behaviour. The detailed morphologies and reversible self-assembling ability of gold MPCs will be presented.
