Recently anti-fouling hydrogels have attracted on much attention in ocean industry field. However most of hydrogels show poor mechanical properties due to inhomogeneous network structure, so their application has been limited in this field. To solve this problem, the fabricated organic/inorganic (polymer/laponite) nanocomposite hydrogels have been prepared. These nanocomposite hydrogels have high mechanical properties due to homogeneous network structure, which is originated from electrical repulsive force between laponites. In this study, the nanocomposite anti-fouling hydrogels are prepared by using metal oxide nanoparticle and laponite. As the laponite contents are changed (1~10 wt%), compression, tensile and peel test are carried out in order to investigate mechanical properties of these gels. It shows that there exists the optimal Young’s modulus value which has the maximum peeling energy and force value. |
