Biomass is available in nature, and it has studied as an alternative to fossil fuels for the production of organic chemicals. 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) is one of the important biomass-based molecules, and is also a raw material for the production of various chemicals. Crystalline aluminosilicate, zeolite is widely used in industry as catalysts. Herein, HMF was aerobic oxidized to 2,5-diformylfuran, 5-hydroxymethyl-2-furancarboxylic acid, 5-formyl-2-furancarboxyllic acid or 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid through zeolite. Several types of zeolite were synthesized and studied their catalytic properties. Then, the metal cluster in cages of zeolite or metal ions as counter cations of framework was evaluated on the catalytic efficiencies. |
