Strategies for Inkjet Printing of Organic Semiconductors |

Printing of the organic semiconductor films with desired molecular ordering become essential challenge for printed organic electronics, as the performance of organic electronic devices is governed by the morphologies and microcrystalline structures of organic semiconductors. Here, we will provide several strategies to control the morphology and microcrystalline structure of organic semiconductors by using inkjet printing process. For small molecular organic semiconductor, control of evaporation-induced flows in a printed single droplet can significatly affect the microcrystalline structure and film morphology of an inkjet-printed organic semiconductor. For printing of polymer semiconductor, we suggest that semiconducting/insulating polymer can hold substantial promise to improve the electrical performance as well as the environmental stability of printed organic transistors. |
