To increase interfacial adhesion between milled carbon fiber (MCF) and epoxy resin, MCF is oxyfluorinated. The surface-functional groups of oxyfluorinated milled carbon fiber (OF-MCF) are investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Interfacial adhesion of OF-MCF is evaluated by contact angle analysis (CAA). Also, the mechanical properties of epoxy composites are evaluated by tensile and impact strength, respectively. On this experiments, the mechanical properties of epoxy composites reinforced OF37-CFP and CNT are considerably improved by 112%, 35% in tensile and impact strength compare to those of raw-epoxy. This results are attributed to increased interfacial adhesion of epoxy resin with CFP that increased surface-roughness and polarity by oxyfluorination. |
