Poly(lactic acid) (PLA)/poly(butylenes adipate-co terephthalate) (PBAT)/poly(propylene carbonate) (PPC) multi-phase blends were prepared by melt processing technique under the presence of compatibilizer with various composition. In our previous study, 70/30 wt% ratio of PLA/PBAT was found be optimized ratio to achieve the balanced properties. Recently, Poly (propylene carbonate) (PPC) is getting a great attention in field of packaging since its biodegradability, compatibility, high gas barrier property, ductility. However, poor thermal stability and processability limit the its application in various industrial fields. Functional groups of PPC could improve interactions within PLA/PBAT binary blends to improve the compatibility and mechanical, physical properties on multi-phase blend system. In this work, the effect of compatibilizer microstructure of PLA/PBAT/PPC multi-phase blends was investigated, and the structure-properties relationship were assesed. |
