Preparation of well-controlled, well-ordered titania nanostructures in films |

Titanium oxide nanostructures have attracted much interest due to the variety of physical properties and their applications in photovoltaics, photocatalysts, photoconductors and sensors. For most applications, the morphology and the crystallinity of these nanostructured materials critically affect their performance. Several strategies for obtaining well-controlled titania nanostructured films have been developed, and, in this work, the template approach based on block copolymer self-assembly was chosen. Titania-block copolymer hybrids have been fabricated by spin-coating based on the directing agent, polystyrene-block-poly(ethylene oxide) block copolymers dissolved in 1,4-dioxane and precursor. To remove organic compound and generate crystalline structure of titania, they have been calcined at high temperature. Well-ordered titania nanostructures were fabricated and found to strongly depend on the composition of components constituting hybrids and processing conditions. |
