제목 Mixed Micelles of Triblock Copolymers Enhance Tumor Localization of Indocyanine Green for Near Infrared Tumor Imaging
초록 Micelle formulations that remain relatively stable in vivo enable improved biodistribution, and tumor targeting through the enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect. We recently reported a Pluronic F-127 polymeric micelle that facilitates tumor accumulation of a near-infrared (NIR) dye, indocyanine green (ICG), in xenograft mouse models following intravenous injection. However, Pluornic F-127 micelles are not stable at room temperature, making micelle preparation and handling challenging. In this work, we report mixed micelles encapsulating ICG that were formed from PEO-PHB-PEO (poly[(R)-3-hydroxybutyrate]-poly(ethylene oxide) and Pluronic F-127 block copolymers. Advantages of the mixed micelle formulations over pure PEO-PHB-PEO or PF-127 micelles include facile formulation at room temperature, filamentous structures, reduced plasma clearance rate, and increased passive tumor targeting. These formulations are therefore promising for tumor-targeted imaging and drug delivery.
