제목 | Electrodeposited Ni-P-B catalysts with high activity for hydrogen evolution reaction in acidic medium |
초록 | Among the catalysts used in water electrolysis, the noble metal catalyst represented by Pt is known as the best HER catalyst as a cathode, but there is a problem of high cost and scarcity. To solve this problem, similar efficiency but low-cost and earth-abundant electrode materials (transition metal, M) have been developed. In this study, Ni-P-B was prepared on the carbon paper substrate using electrodeposition method. By adjusting the B/P ratio, the properties of M-P electron transfer (electronegativity) and M-Bx (x < 2) reverse-electron transfer (vacant d-orbital) can optimize the electronic structure. Their catalytic activity for hydrogen evolution reaction was tested in half-cell measurement with the acidic electrolyte. Furthermore, employing the optimized catalyst in cathode, the performance of proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer was tested. |
