A series of symmetric, semicrystalline triblock copolymers of poly(D,L-lactide)-b-oligo(9,9-didodecyl fluorene-2,7-diyl)-b-poly(D,L-lactide) (PLA-b-PF-b-PLA) were synthesized by using ring opening polymerization method. The oligofluorene with hydroxyl ends was synthesized by the Yamamoto-type coupling of 2,7-dibromo-9,9-didodecyl-fluorene using a Ni(COD) catalyst as reductive transition metal-base coupling agent. The coil-like PLA block segments were further added to both ends of the rod-like PF block segments by ring opening polymerization method. Various phase-separated morphologis of these triblock copolymers were induced during either changing temperature or casting on the Si wafer and carefully investigated by using SEM or AFM. |
