제목 Ultrasmall FeOOH nanoaprticles as active electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction
초록 We demonstrated that ultrasmall iron oxyhydroxide (FeOOH) nanoparticles can be synthesized with sizes less than 15 nm by alkaline treatment of iron alkoxide obtained from heating a solution containing iron nitrate, ethylene glycol, and oleylamine. Electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and X-ray photo electron spectroscopy were employed to characterize FeOOH nanoparticles. As a result of exceptionally small particle sizes, FeOOH nanoparticles exhibited higher electrocatalytic performance for oxygen reaction (OER) than commercial IrO2. Our approach provides the synthesis of ultrasmall FeOOH nanoparticles that are promising candidates as electrode materials for OER.
