As the depletion of fossil fuels, the photoelectrochemical water splitting can be a popular eco-friendly method, for producing hydrogen and oxygen under solar irradiation. CdS is used as an excellent photocatalyst due to its good electron-hole separation property and stability with 2.4eV band gap. In order to obtain high photo energy conversion, a multi-layered structure is applied for photocatalysis synthesis. In addition, Zn-doped BiVO4 and TiO2 are stacked on the CdS layer. Zn-doped BiVO4 is used to enhance charge transfer rate of CdS/TiO2 heterojunction system by minimizing electrode damages. TiO2 is stacked at the top of the photoanode to minimize electrode damages.Various PEC properties of the CdS/Zn-doped BiVO4/TiO2 electrodes are investigated for understanding the effect of each components. |
