A variety of studies have been conducted to develop novel nanostructured materials for sensor applications. In this work, first, an alternating layered graphene/polyaniline (G-PANI) nanoarchitecture was simply fabricated via physical exfoliation of graphite with soluble polyaniline. Importantly, a series or parallel connection-like configuration of intercalated polyaniline nanolayers was formed when a voltage was applied perpendicular or parallel to the stacked graphene plane. Compared with the parallel connection-like configuration, the series connection-like configuration produced a far better sensing performance, particularly in terms of sensitivity. This result was verified by impedance analysis. For the series connection-like configuration, the graphene/polyaniline nanoarchitecture film was composed of numerous resistance circuit elements arranged in a chain. |
