Solar vapour generation is a type of way to efficiently harvest the solar power to purify polluted or saline water. However, there are some limitations to be commercialized such as high cost of materials and difficult manufacture processes. We introduce the poly dimethyl siloxane (PDMS) based solar vapour generator. It has low price, and good floating property on water. In addition, we used the salt-templating method as low-costed etching process to generate dendritic porous structure to efficiently inhale the water to upper surface of the membrane by capillary effect. After that, we coated poly pyrrole (PPy) on the gradient porous structure via chemical vapor deposition (CVD) to high efficiency photo thermal conversion. Prepared membrane can generate 16.09 kg/m2 h of purified water on 5 sun solar energy. Therefore, we can fabricate gradient open porous black membrane using low-costed material and simple fabrication method. |
