Synthesis and Characterization of Low-band gap Copolymers That Contain New electron-withdrawing group |
초록 |
A novel organic semiconducting polymer for photovoltaic cells was synthesized and characterized. Low band gap (LBG) materials have been synthesized through Pd(0) catalyzed Suzuki coupling polymerization by controlling the monomer ratios. The synthesized polymers were readily soluble in common organic solvents such as chlorobenzene, toluene, etc and formed uniform thin films after spin coating. Gel permeation chromatography showed that number-average molecular weights ranged from 8000 to 10000 g mol-1. The film morphology of the bulk heterojunction mixtures with [6,6]-phenyl C71-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) was also examined by atomic force microscopy. Energy levels of the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) were also determined by cyclic voltammetry (CV). Photovoltaic devices were fabricated using the copolymers as the p-type donor and C70-PCBM as the electron acceptors. |
