제목 Preparation of highly porous nanoparticles by using alkali soluble resin via Friedel-crafts reaction
초록 Porous materials with high surface area, due to their diverse potential applications in separators, electronics, and catalysts, have attracted extensive attention. In general, the microporous nanoparticles previously called “Davankov-resin” is synthesized via emulsion polymerization and Friedel-crafts reaction. However, it needs to eliminate used ionic emulsifiers in polymerization before Friedel-crafts reaction. To overcome this drawback, in this study, an alkali-soluble resin (ASR ; poly(styrene-co-acrylic acid)) was used as a polymeric emulsifier in the emulsion polymerization of vinylbenzyl chloride (VBC) / divinyl benzene (DVB) precursor nanoparticles. Highly porous nanoparticles were prepared via Friedel-crafts reaction of the precursor using FeCl3, Lewis-acid catalyst. Friedel-crafts type hyper crosslinking reaction of these precursors yields uniform microporous nanoparticles with extremely high surface area and micropore volume.
