제목 H2TiO3/rGO composite material for selective lithium removal through Membrane Capacitive Deionization
초록 Membrane capacitive deionization is one of the emerging techniques for the removal of charged ions using electrical double layer capacitive behavior. Lithium is considered as a strategic metal by the countries. Extraction of lithium sea and brackish water is a necessity considering the future of the existing industries. We propose H2TiO3/rGO electrodes for efficient selective adsorption of Li+ ions. H2TiO3 provides high selectivity towards lithium and rGO plays role in increasing conductivity and capacitive behavior of material. The composite is tested in different potentials ranging from 0.8 to 1.2 V and its ion removal capacity during charging -discharging is noted. Change in conductivity during charging discharging process is recorded. During charging ions get electrostatically attracted and adsorbed to oppositely charged electrodes. The MCDI system consist of cell, peristaltic pump, conductivity probe. MCDI cell is constructed as activated carbon on anodic side and active material on cathodic side. The anionic and cationic membranes pass only cations and anions to respective electrodes. We establish H2TiO3/rGO composite for efficient, selective removal of lithium.
