Siloxane and Acrylate Emulsion with a Low Concentration of surfactant |

Copolymer emulsions of methylmethacrylate (MMA), 2-ethyl-hexylacrylate (2-EHA) and vinyltrisopropoxysilane were prepared by a seeded semicontinous polymerization in the presence of a redox initiator, ammonium persulfate and sodium hydrosulfate. The particles size and size distribution were determined by Dynamics Laser Scattering (DLS). The mean diameter of the particles decreased with an increase in the amount of the surfactant and the monomer concentration. |
